PARIVARTAN – Be the change
We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give. ---- Sir Winston Churchill
When people talk of giving, the first thought is usually of the kind acts that individuals do for others. Charity may begin at home, but it certainly does not end there. IQR is on the path of making "give back to society" a fundamental part of our corporate mission.
IQR had started its contribution to society in 2010, albeit at a smaller scale. But to take this further with an organized manner, we have now developed a social volunteering committee called "Parivartan – Be the change".
This committee was formed in 2012 with a goal to give the employees an opportunity to participate in social support. The Parivartan committee consists of some enthusiastic employees who truly believe what Elizabeth Andrew once said:- "Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart."
With this vision the group is working hard towards bringing a visible change in outlook and attitude, change for betterment of self, society and country.
The current goals of this committee are:
- Education of the underprivileged
- Support to the disadvantaged or challenged
Activities conducted by Parivartan:
- Kavita Foundation: A housewife, Manhariben Vaghela runs a day care center for children from low income families who have a single parent only. She provides currently daytime shelter and food to 22 such children while their only parent labors to make both the ends meet. IQR offers a monthly cash donation to Kavita Foundation. Employees have also contributed in Cash and in Kind (clothes, toys, games etc.). A few employees volunteer to teach the kids computer basics over the weekends.
- Blind People’s Association: Our volunteers have read out loud and recorded text books on Audio format CDs, which are distributed to blind students.
It is these small acts of kindness which we believe will really make a huge difference to society.
